  • Now Sara with partners in Nepal wants to do more!

Fair Connections Foundation has so far raised over £2000 and has worked with over 25 schools in Nepal providing them with handmade puppet sets and book along with training that help make teaching stimulating and fun in Nepal.

In February 2017 Sara worked with Chrissy from the Pahar Trust and trained 17 schools in the Kaski and Lamjung area on how puppets can be used to make teaching fun. This short video captures some of that training and shows how animated and engaged the teacher are.

Further training was provided to a cluster of schools in the Sikles sector and more has been requested.

Sara went to Nepal in October and trained a further 11 schools with Global Action Nepal and is planning to training some more when she is in Nepal in March this year. She has lots of videos and feedback to share with you so please visit her blog pages and you tube channel for more information on this. This video here was made as a thank you to all those who have donated so far and to encourage more people to donate so more work can be done.

The aim is to raise funds so that more puppets sets and training can be provided to at least another 25 schools many of them connected to Global Action Nepal and the Pahar Trust Nepal.

Every £100 raised means that one school will get:-

    1. Free training session on using puppets in the classroom to support children friendly learning
    -----------

    2. The Baby Monkey Puppet set and happy sad doll

(All products are made in Nepal by local women and are fair trade WFTO certified)
    -----------

    3. Baby Monkey and Adventures of Fairis a Nepali Frog books

    -----------

    4. A selection of local books and resources

to help schools in their journey to becoming more child friendly and providing quality education

    -----------

I have had requests from KERE and Asian Resource Foundation (ARF) for training to be provided in their schools so please mention this in the comments when you donate if these are the schools you are supporting.

“So much more can be done together – as long as connections are based on respect, genuine participation and a commitment to autonomous development. My experiences in Nepal over the past 30 years has taught me so much – and shown me that local people are best placed to define and implement projects to bring positive change in their own communities.”
