Sara has supported a number of projects in Nepal over the past 30 years …

Resources for day care centre
Education should be fun
Ran the Liverpool 5k Santa Dash and raised funds to provide educational material for day care centre in Sikles for 60 children. Also provided sports kit and equipment for the local youth group
Community Photography Project
Facilitated a two year project where local people took photos of
their own community leading to exhibitions and a coffee table book. The project raised over £7,000 which youth, womens groups and the school used for local development projects.
Nepal / Earthquake response
Following earthquakes last year Sara took an active role in forming Liverpool Unites for Nepal bringing people together to raise funds for the Help Nepal Network to rebuild a school as well as supporting other smaller initiatives.
By giving talks in local schools Sara has helped develop friendship links between the UK and Pahar Trust (PTN) schools in Nepal. These links help increase understanding and develop global citizens. They have also led to teacher exchange visits between the two countries and enrich the primary school curriculum both here and in Nepal.
Story sacks and training
Frogs and Monkeys!
In December 2015 twenty schools were provided with story sacks featuring handmade puppets from Nepal. Training was also provided with the support of Global Action Nepal (GAN). Feedback from these schools provides the basis of the current fundraising
‘Walk a Marathon’.
